Transparent Pricing

What Determines Pallet Pricing?

We believe in complete transparency when it comes to how we price pallets — both for buyers and sellers. Unlike some competitors who offer take-it-or-leave-it quotes, we explain exactly which factors influence the price so you can make informed decisions and optimize your pallet budget.

1

Pallet Condition / Grade

The single biggest factor. Grade A pallets (like-new, no repairs) command the highest price. Grade B (minor wear, fully functional) falls in the middle. Grade C (cosmetic damage, structurally sound) is the most affordable option. Broken or damaged pallets sold to us are priced based on the amount of salvageable material.

2

Pallet Size

Standard 48x40 GMA pallets are the most liquid and competitively priced. Non-standard sizes like 42x42, 48x48, 36x36, or custom dimensions may be priced differently based on supply and demand. Oversized pallets typically cost more due to increased material and handling requirements.

3

Wood Type

Hardwood pallets (oak, maple) are stronger and command a premium over softwood pallets (pine, spruce). Heat-treated pallets carry an additional cost for the treatment process and certification. Combination pallets (hardwood stringers with softwood deck boards) fall in between.

4

Order Volume

Volume discounts start at 100 units and increase at 250, 500, and 1,000 unit thresholds. Our largest accounts purchasing 5,000+ units per month receive custom contract pricing. Even small volumes are competitively priced, but the per-unit cost drops significantly with scale.

5

New vs. Used

New pallets built to specification cost more than used pallets, but offer consistent quality and longer lifespan. Used pallets represent significant savings — often 40 to 60 percent less than new — while still meeting most operational requirements. We help customers find the right balance.

6

Seasonal Demand

Pallet prices fluctuate seasonally. Demand peaks in late summer and fall as businesses stock up for the holiday shipping season. Prices tend to be lowest in January through March. Locking in a contract with fixed pricing protects you from seasonal spikes.

7

Lumber Market Conditions

The cost of raw lumber directly impacts new pallet pricing and, to a lesser extent, used pallet values. When lumber prices spike — as we have seen during supply chain disruptions — pallet prices follow. Used pallets become even more cost-effective during high-lumber-price periods.

8

Delivery Distance

Pallets picked up from our yard (will-call) have no delivery cost. Delivery within the Wichita metro is included for orders of 100+ units. Deliveries outside the metro area may carry a distance-based surcharge, though this is often waived for large or recurring orders.

9

Treatment Requirements

Pallets requiring ISPM-15 heat treatment for international shipping include the cost of kiln processing, stamping, and documentation. This typically adds a per-unit fee to the base pallet price. Volume discounts apply to heat treatment services as well.

10

Custom Specifications

Non-standard dimensions, specific wood species, notched stringers, chamfered edges, or special fastener requirements may affect pricing. Custom pallets typically require a 3-5 business day lead time and are quoted on a per-project basis.

11

Payment Terms

Standard payment is due on delivery. Established accounts may qualify for net-15 or net-30 terms, which can affect per-unit pricing. Prepayment for large orders may qualify for an additional discount.

12

Contract Length

Customers who commit to monthly or quarterly purchase agreements receive preferential pricing compared to spot-market purchases. Annual contracts with volume commitments unlock our deepest discounts and fixed pricing that protects against market fluctuations.

For Buyers

Step-by-Step Buying Process

Purchasing pallets from us is straightforward and designed to minimize your effort. From initial inquiry to pallets on your dock, here is exactly what to expect at each stage.

1

Initial Inquiry

Contact us by phone, email, or through our website form. Tell us what size pallets you need, the approximate quantity, your preferred grade (A, B, or C), and whether you need new or used. If you are not sure what grade is right for your application, we will help you decide.

2

Custom Quote

Within 24 hours (often within a few hours), we provide a detailed quote including per-unit pricing by grade, volume discount tiers, delivery costs if applicable, and estimated availability. For large or custom orders, we may request a brief phone call to finalize specifications.

3

Order Confirmation

Once you approve the quote, confirm your order by phone or email. We lock in the quoted price and reserve your inventory. For new or custom-built pallets, we begin fabrication immediately. For used pallets, we pull and stage your order in our warehouse.

4

Quality Inspection

Every pallet in your order undergoes our multi-point quality inspection. Our team checks for structural integrity, correct dimensions, proper fastener placement, and grade-appropriate cosmetic condition. Pallets that do not meet grade standards are replaced before your order ships.

5

Staging & Preparation

Inspected pallets are stacked, banded, and staged for loading. If you requested heat treatment, pallets are processed through our kiln and stamped before staging. Custom markings or labeling are applied at this stage if specified.

6

Delivery or Pickup

Choose delivery to your location or will-call pickup from our yard. Deliveries include GPS tracking and estimated arrival windows. Our drivers handle all loading and unloading using your dock, forklift, or our truck-mounted equipment. Will-call orders are loaded for you.

7

Invoice & Payment

Invoices are generated upon delivery or pickup. Standard payment terms are net-on-delivery for new accounts. Established customers may qualify for net-15 or net-30 terms. We accept checks, ACH transfers, wire transfers, and major credit cards.

8

Follow-Up & Reorder

After delivery, our team follows up to ensure everything met your expectations. If you have a recurring need, we set up a standing order with guaranteed pricing and scheduled deliveries so you never run out of pallets. Adjustments can be made at any time.

For Sellers

Step-by-Step Selling Process

Selling your surplus pallets to us is just as simple. We handle all the heavy lifting — literally. Here is how the process works from your first call to payment in your account.

1

Contact Us

Reach out by phone, email, or our online form. Let us know approximately how many pallets you have, what sizes and conditions, and where they are located. Photos are helpful but not required — we can assess everything on site.

2

Free On-Site Assessment

For quantities over 50 pallets, we send a buyer to your location at no charge. They will inspect the pallets, sort them by grade and size, count the inventory, and take notes on access and loading conditions. For smaller quantities, we can often quote based on photos.

3

Transparent Quote

Based on the assessment, we provide a per-unit price broken down by grade. You will see exactly what we are paying for Grade A, B, and C pallets and how many of each you have. There are no hidden fees, deductions, or surprises.

4

Agreement & Scheduling

Accept the quote and we schedule a pickup at your convenience. For one-time pickups, we work around your dock schedule. For ongoing surplus, we set up a recurring pickup contract — weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly — at a guaranteed price.

5

Pickup & Loading

Our truck arrives at the scheduled time. Our driver handles all loading. If pallets are dock-accessible, we load directly. If they are scattered around your facility, we can stage and consolidate before loading. You do not need to provide labor or equipment.

6

Counting & Documentation

We provide a pickup receipt with the exact count and grade breakdown signed by both our driver and your representative. This receipt serves as the basis for invoicing and ensures complete transparency and accountability.

7

Payment Processing

Payment is processed within 7 business days of pickup for standard accounts. High-volume sellers on recurring contracts can arrange for weekly or bi-weekly payment cycles. We pay by check or ACH direct deposit — your choice.

8

Ongoing Partnership

For recurring sellers, we provide monthly summary reports showing total pallets sold, revenue generated, and grade distribution. We review pricing quarterly to ensure it remains competitive. Our goal is a long-term partnership that benefits both sides.

Market Intelligence

Seasonal Pricing Patterns

Pallet pricing is not static — it follows predictable seasonal patterns driven by shipping volumes, agricultural cycles, and broader economic trends. Understanding these patterns can help you time your purchases strategically and save money.

Winter (Jan-Mar)

Lowest Prices

Post-holiday lull means lower demand and the best pricing of the year. This is the ideal time to stock up for the busy months ahead. Supply is typically high as businesses clear out surplus from the Q4 shipping rush.

Pro Tip: Best time to lock in annual contract pricing.

Spring (Apr-Jun)

Moderate Prices

Demand begins rising as agricultural and manufacturing activity increases. Prices creep upward from winter lows. Agricultural harvest pallets start to enter the supply chain, adding inventory but also increasing demand for clean, grade-A units.

Pro Tip: Good time to establish recurring orders before summer demand.

Summer (Jul-Sep)

Rising Prices

Peak season begins. Manufacturers and distributors ramp up production for the holiday shopping season. Demand for pallets surges while supply tightens. Lead times on custom orders may extend during this period.

Pro Tip: Pre-order in June to avoid peak-season premiums and longer lead times.

Fall (Oct-Dec)

Highest Prices

Holiday shipping drives the highest demand of the year. Availability of used pallets tightens as every pallet in the supply chain is in active use. New pallet prices may rise due to lumber demand competition.

Pro Tip: Contract customers with fixed pricing are protected from seasonal spikes.
